Join Bronx Frame and Sunday Soul for a special screening of the award -winning documentary "KEEPER", followed by a panel discussion and honey tasting exploring the relationship between honeybees, wellness, environmental stewardship, and community.

The evening will feature members of the film’s creative team alongside representatives from Boogie Down Bronx Honey, Bee U NYC and Bonnie Banks, for a conversation on the ecological importance of honeybees, urban beekeeping, pollinator health, and the role of beekeeping in personal and community wellness.

After the panel discussion, Guests will have the opportunity to sample locally sourced Bronx honey, view live Honey Bees in an observation hive, handle beekeeping tools of the trade and crank a honey frame extractor.

His ongoing body of work, All The Talent Is In The Hood, reflects a sustained engagement with the neighborhoods and communities that have shaped his life. Rather than arriving with predetermined conclusions, Shai uses photography to create space for encounters that reveal new truths and cultural richness found within everyday life.

Shamel Ridley artistically known as Kumo Shai (b. 1992, Bronx, New York) is a multidisciplinary artist and photographer whose practice moves between documentary photography and portraiture. Working with both analog and digital processes, he creates images that explore place, memory and the relationships between people and their environments. His photographs often blur the line between observation and collaboration, inviting viewers to reconsider the familiar through moments of symbolism, and quiet presence.

Shai is the recepient of a BRIO (Bronx Recognizes Its Own) award from the Bronx Council on the Arts. His work has been exhibited in New York and featured in Interview Magazine and Highsnobiety. He lives and works in New York City.

For this iteration of Pages II Poses, we will explore Wild Tongues Can't Be Tamed edited by The Bronx's own Saraciea J. Fennell, founder of The Bronx Is Reading. Featuring an all-star cast of Latinx contributors, this anthology courses through an array of emotions and interrogates a spectrum of myths, memories, stereotypes, and stories. Join us as we navigate our individual and collective stories, ready to release what may be waiting at the tip of our tongues.

Join us for a hands on workshop with Lenny Medina who will walk you through how to operate a large format film camera!

Photographing with a 4x5 camera is an unparalleled experience that requires patience and a refined sense of composition but delivers images with incredible clarity, often exceeding the resolution (or megapixels) of most digital cameras.

Each participant will be given (2) sheets of Black and White 4x5 film to photograph outside along the lawn of the historic Andrew Freedman Home. Lenny will guide you through loading the film into holders, using a light meter to properly expose your image and composing your photographs through the glass viewfinder.

My Roadmap of Portraits exhibition is a black and white film photography series that explores Lenny Medina’s method of creating uniquely intimate portraits of both loved ones and close mentors throughout his long creative journey. This photo series is merely a snapshot of his decades long work of documentary and portraiture photography as Lenny’s plethora of cameras have captured the essence of thousands of subjects and muses coming from all walks of life. The exhibition also features a few artworks that Lenny created in the darkroom as he unveils for us his talent for harnessing the alchemy behind darkroom printing – his signature retro-style that could never be replicated.

AFH presents the return of the Bronx Frame Reading Series with "The Heights We Climb", a new two-act play by Danny Serene.

Grounded by the words of the poet and Black Feminist intellectual June Jordan: “Regardless of tragedy, regardless of the grievance, regardless of the monstrous challenge. Some of Us Have not Died. Some of us did not die… And what shall we do, we who did not die?”

For this iteration of Pages II Poses, we will explore the fifth issue of Alaso, a Haitian Feminist Anthology. Dous [Pleasure/Desire] honors the spaces that hold the line in the face of chaos. This issue focuses on pleasure/desire from the personal, intimate, and political scales, while also illuminating that sometimes all three can be intertwined. Join us for a journey to explore how Dous can offer us something very sweet.

Pages II Poses isn’t your typical book club or movement class. It’s an embodied book club experience where the bending and folding of pages inspire poses guided with intention, and culminate in moments of reflection and sharing.

Things to look forward to:

tasha is an artist, Pleasure Activist, and Intimacy Doula. Jazy is a Yoga Educator and Street Photographer. Both are educators who have over 10 years of experience and call The Boogie Down Bronx home. Together, they make up Kinetic Narratives.

Kinetic Narratives is a literary movement collective led by two Bronx natives with over 30 years of combined experience in community-building, literacy engagement, and movement-based practices. We partner with local organizations and book clubs, like One Book One Bronx, Andrew Freedman Home, and The Bronx Collab, to bring our passion for books to our community and beyond. Our goals are to promote BIPOC authors, cultivate connection through sharing, and increase literacy rates by making reading an active, accessible, and unforgettable experience, proving that the most profound stories don't just speak to us — they move us.

poetry me please takes over the historic Andrew Freedman Home in partnership with Bronx Frame for an afternoon built around three moments: a live showcase, a premiere screening, and an intimate conversation about what it means for poets to push the culture forward.

This event is part of the Bronx Frame Spring 2026 Screening Series — the film and moving-image public programming initiative of the Andrew Freedman Home, dedicated to amplifying Bronx storytellers across generations through screenings, artist talks, and hands-on workshops that expand access to cinema and media arts within the borough.

Eight renowned NYC poets perform original work live on stage: Chris Cee, Mama Poetress, Kenny Gordon, ourlittleauthor, Brey, Agent Poems, Jessica Payes, Habib Bello

The premiere of What If, a brand-new short film written and directed by Christian Morant with an original score by Christine Elise. Built by a cast and crew of nearly 30 artists, the film explores duality, polarizing perspectives, and the power of a single unified voice.

3. The Fireside Chat: Poets Behind the Camera

PMP founder Rashan Brown moderates an intimate conversation with writer-director-poet Christian Morant on What If — the spark that started it, the energy it took to bring so many voices into one room, and what it means for poets to take the lead not just on stage, but behind the camera.
